医学薬学府4年博士課程先端医学薬学専攻の学生の中で、特にワクチン開発の基礎・臨床研究に重点を置く学生は「ワクチン学コース」を、感染症の基礎・臨床研究に重点を置く学生は「感染症学コース」を選択することができます。本コースを選択して、4年博士課程を修了したものは，博士（医学）もしくは博士（薬学）の学位の授与を受けると共に、本コースの修了証を得ることができます。ワクチン学・感染症学特論Essential、ワクチン学・感染症学特論Advanced、ワクチン学特論Expert、感染症学特論Expertの4講義が提供されています。

ワクチン学・感染症学特論Essential
目的：医学・薬学・関連する各専攻分野において、次世代のワクチン学および感染症学に関する研究者をはじめとする幅広い⼈材を育成することを⽬的として、ワクチン学・感染症学の基礎から最新の知識を広く深く習得する。様々な分野にまたがるワクチン学・感染症学を統⼀的に学ぶことにより、基礎研究および臨床研究を遂⾏する基礎的能⼒を⾝につける。

目標：ワクチン学専⾨医師・研究者・コミュニケーター・知財専⾨家・アントレプレナーなどの⼈材育成に向けて、免疫システムや感染症、ワクチンについて最先端を学ぶとともに、医療経済学、統計学、臨床試験学、AI創薬学、医療データサイエンス医科学など、周辺知識を幅広く習得することを⽬標とする。

We welcome a wide range of free research proposals, not limited to mucosal vaccines, as long as they are related to vaccine development with a view to the future. We also welcome research of social science outside of the natural sciences, such as "social acceptability of vaccines" and "ethical issues". Emphasis will be placed on "Challenging," "Originality," and "High Risk and High Return" perspectives not found in conventional vaccine development. Proposals will also be reviewed to determine whether this research is the seed of a new research project and will lead to the next step forward.
